The renovation of the East Side of Huskie Stadium would become the highlight facility to the Northern Illinois region. It would create a student/University engagement opportunity allowing use for non-gamedays throughout the year and would house premium areas for fans and alumni with bar service, concessions and restrooms exclusive to these premium area ticket holders. Recruitment & Retention activities can be accelerated by adding a new central location for the NIU student body within the East Side of Huskie Stadium. This impressive new front porch for visitors to campus would be a staple for campus tours that begin and end with a breathtaking new facility. The enclosure of Huskie Stadium with construction of a South Endzone dedicated to a field-level student area with a seating capacity of 6,500. This addition would create a connecting point for fan movement between the East and West sides of Huskie Stadium.
